Olgi, mi is a "besorolása" a könyvednek pontosan?

3-6 éveseknek szóló cérnafűzött, keménytáblás gyerekkönyv. Szerintem inkább interaktív foglalkoztató, egy olyan könyv, amibe szabadon rajzolhatnak, firkálhatnak gyerekek és felnőttek egyaránt.

Honnan jött az ötlet?

Képgrafika szakon végeztem a brüsszeli St. Luc képzőművészeti főiskolán, de a tanulmányaim alatt három évig gyerekkönyv illusztrációval is foglalkoztam. Mindig is vonzottak a gyerekek: a határtalan kreativitásuk, a kíváncsiságuk, az, ahogyan lelkesedni tudnak új dolgok, élmények iránt.

A diplomamunkám részét képezte egy gyerekkönyv sorozat összeállítása, és ebből nőtte ki magát a PGE (Pont, görbe, egyenes) is.

 

Milyen a visszajelzés a könyvről? (Mi nagyon megszerettük, a négy évesem a legtöbb formát felismerte, s most maga is próbál PGE rajzokat létrehozni.)

Én sem tudom, hogy mennyi fogyott el eddig belőle, és hogy hány szülő vitte haza és kísérletezett vele, de remélem, hogy egyre többen kedvet kapnak hozzá!
Számomra meghatározó emlék marad az, amikor a barátnőm öt éves fiának odaadtuk a PGE-t, és miközben végiglapozta óriásikat hahotázott. Nevetve felismerte az oldalakon szereplő ábrákat, és miután kielemezte a könyvben szereplő képeket, elfutott a szobájába papírért és ceruzáért majd belekezdett az alkotásba. Azóta is akárhányszor találkozom a kisfiúval, megemlíti, hogy a könyvet még mindig irtó viccesnek tartja, és hogy milyen új alakzatokat talált ki.

Csütörtöki kultúrséták a Ráday utcában - Workshopot tartok gyerekeknek a Két Egér könyvesboltban

Artisták, zsonglőrök, utcazenészek, komolyzenei koncertek, felolvasók és komédiások szokott és szokatlan helyszíneken Belső-Ferencvárosban. (Ráday utca, Tompa utca, Bakáts tér; június 16-tól augusztus végéig).

 A Két Egér könyvesbolt (Ráday utca 20.) előtt Június 16-án kb. 18 órától a minimálgrafika világába kalauzolom az érdeklödőket rengeteg piros pötty segítségével!

Akinek pedig megvan a Pont, Görbe, Egyenes, most itt a lehetőség dedikáltatni!

05.08.11 - The making and publishing of my book (Part 5) - I'm finished!

Sorry for not posting in a while, but I was working hard, and had no time... So this is how one average day looked like for me this past week: I worked at my "day job" from 9am to 6pm, went home and worked on my book from 9pm to 'who knows what time in the night'.

After several rounds of corrections I am proud to announce that my final book draft has been accepted by my publisher!!!

It's finished, and with this, most of my work is completed, but there is still much to be done before you and I can hold the book in our hands...

04.28.11 - The making and publishing of my book (Part 3) - My new best friend

I spent my evening scanning illustrations and editing them on photoshop, and I must say, we became good friends with my new scanner :)

04.27.11 - The making and publishing of my book (Part 2) - Counting the pages

It's not that easy figuring out how many pages my book should have. I need to follow some golden rules:
- 1 blank page (first and last pages)
- 4 end pages
- Title page
- © page

- The total number of pages should be an amount that can be divided by 8!

With this in mind, I started measuring and counting the pages of my favourite children's books to see how they were made. After careful consideration I have come to the conclusion that mine should be as following:
- size: 170mm x 180mm or 170mm x 170mm (to be decided later)
- number of pages: 40

04.26.11 - The making and publishing of my book (Part 1) - creating the final prototype

My project is on a roll and hopefully in a few weeks my book will be out! Yesterday I discussed layout plans and publishing details with Csimota (my publishing house). Since then, I spent hours on my PC finalizing the prototype but at the end of the day I had to print and lay it all out because I couldn't see any more if the compositions were working and if the transitions between double pages are coherent.

I will try to document the whole process, new post coming soon!

02.24.11 - Aranyvackor 2011 Hungarian Childrens Illustration Contest (Vol.1)

Today took place the award ceremony of the Hungarian Children's Illustration Contest (Aranyvackor) and I was lucky enough to win the second prize and the Csimota special award. I met some great people, and hopefully some of my books will be edited before the end of this year.

This post is dedicated to my work Dot Curve Line, the project with which I won the two awards but was not presented at the event.
